Reviews for "The Succubus Gift"

The first reviews are in, and they’ve been kind.

When I published The Succubus Gift, I felt it was as good as I could make it. I spent two months writing it, then three months worrying, editing, revising, torturing my editors with revisions, and worrying some more. At some point you have to throw it out the window and see if it flies or drops like a rock.

Night Owl Reviews Top Pick As a self-published author, I don’t have the propaganda public relations machine to promote my book that the big publishers provide for their authors. I have to do it myself. So we created this web site, pages on Twitter and Facebook, and author pages on sites such as Amazon, Smashwords, Goodreads, etc.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been sending letters to sites on the internet that review books, hoping they’ll agree to review it and help me to promote it. Every time I send one of these letters, I cringe, hoping they agree to review it, hoping they’ll like it, and desperately hoping they don’t post a review trashing it.

A lot of reviewers don’t do Ebooks. A lot more don’t review self-published or Indie authors. I can understand why. I read free books on my Nook, and some are so poorly written, or poorly edited, they make my teeth hurt. I applaud and encourage people to read and write, but please, at least use Word’s spell and grammar checkers if you can’t find someone to edit it.

I’ve also been spreading the word of mouth to my friends, hoping they’ll tell their friends, tweeting, facebooking, and generally making a nuisance of myself. Contributing to the internet pollution through spam. I’ve finally fully entered the 21^st century.

The first reviews are in, and while it may not be a book everyone wants to read, it does seem to have an audience. Reviews posted have been between four and five stars, which are incredibly good.

Night Owl Reviews gave it 4.5 stars, making it a “Top Pick”.

Congratulations! I knew there would be a market for this book. It's perfect for those who love PNR but are sick of the same old story lines.

Getting introduced to Brenna and her talents in "The Su ccubus Gift" was a fun treat! Wish I had some of those gifts. It's a fun and frisky first novel that I highly recommend. The women are strong, intelligent, clever and and powerful. Well, so are the men but they are evenly matched in the "show down" scenes. Being beautiful or out-of-this world handsome doesn't hurt either. Can't wait to read the next in the series!
